Smith Flooring arrived on the San Diego scene in 1988. After learning the trade from family patriarch Elwood Russell (Russell Floor Company, est. 1935), Wayne and Elizabeth set out on their own.  Entrenched in the long family traditions of quality and affordability, they set out to create a product that could stand the test of time.  Twenty-five years later, Smith Flooring Company is considered an icon for high quality and exceptional service in the San Diego county area.
      We pride ourselves on these values, as well as being very family-oriented.  Mark Owens, another thirty-year hard-wood flooring veteran, has been our partner and friend for many years, and our children and nephews are regular employees. This is truly a traditional family business!
